Setting Up Email Stationery – Part Two

In a previous article, I outlined how to install email stationery so that it appears with each new message.

But what if you don’t want it to? What if you run a couple of businesses and need to choose which email stationery you use, or if you don’t want your business email stationery on your personal emails?

Before you start

If you have ordered email stationery from us, you will receive a file that will install everything you need on your computer. All we have to do is tell Outlook/Outlook Express where it is!

Using Outlook Express 5

These instructions were prepared using Outlook Express 5. Other versions may differ slightly, but should be more-or-less the same. Contact us if you get stuck.
(If you’re using Outlook 2003 please see the note at the end of this article first.)

Step 1

Step 1Open up Outlook Express and single-click the little triangle next the the ‘New Message’ button.

Step 2

Step 2Towards the bottom of the list that appears you should see ‘Select Stationery’. Click it once.

Step 3

If you have correctly installed the stationery file we sent you, you should see your name among this list. Click it once to select it then click ‘OK’
Step 3

Step 4

Step 4A new message will open with your new stationery! Close it by clicking the ‘X’ in the top right corner if you do not wish to send a message now.

Step 5

Step 5In future, when you want to use your stationery, instead of clicking the ‘New Message’ button click the down arrow next to as you did in step one. Your stationery will now appear in the list (probably at the top of it unless you use other stationery sometimes). Click it once to open up a new message window, and get typing!!!

Outlook is a little different

Outlook is a little different – instead of looking for the downward-pointing-triangle next to the New Mail button, you’ll need to click Actions – New Mail Using (as per the shot below).
