The Rockhampton Art, Culture & Heritage Experience Locator app (RACHEL) is now available from both Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
Developed completely in Rockhampton, stage one of the app features detailed info about historical and cultural points of interest, suggested walking trails, and social media integration.
The app draws it’s information from a combination of data sources. Business details are drawn from the myrockhampton.com.au website database, and historical information and walking tours are drawn from a customised WordPress installation (which means staff at Rockhampton Regional Council can update the app contents easily themselves).
Stage 2 has some very cool extras to add to the app’s utility and interactivity… watch this space!
